Every tool here runs in your browser. Nothing is stored, nothing is sent anywhere, and none of them ask for an email address to show you a result. They exist because most dog calculators online are built for a house with a garden in a cold country, priced in dollars, and silent on everything that shapes life with a dog in an Indian flat.

Which one to start with

  • You have just brought a puppy home

Start with the puppy bladder calculator to find out how long they can genuinely hold on, then the potty planner for the pad size and daily schedule. Those two answer the first fortnight.

  • You are thinking about getting a dog

The breed match quiz first, then the cost calculator. Between them they cover the two questions people most often answer wrong before adopting or buying.

  • You already have a dog

The food calculator and the water calculator take a minute each and correct the two things owners most commonly get wrong by a wide margin.

  • You are already buying disposable pee pads

The savings calculator compares what you spend now against a coir setup, including the plastic you would stop sending to landfill.

  • You want to know where your dog is in their life

The dog age calculator uses a size based model rather than the multiply by seven habit, and gives you the life stage that drives everything else.

Where the numbers come from

The food calculator uses Resting Energy Requirement, 70 multiplied by body weight in kilograms to the power of 0.75, then applies a life stage multiplier. It is the same starting point a vet uses. The water calculator uses 50 to 60 ml per kilogram a day, which tracks energy requirement closely. The puppy bladder tool uses the widely taught rule of age in months plus one hour, capped around eight.

The dog age calculator uses a size adjusted model: about fifteen human years for the first dog year, nine more for the second, then four, five or six a year by size. The cost and savings calculators use Indian retail and private clinic ranges for 2026, adjusted by city tier and dog size. Every one of these is an average, which means it describes a population rather than necessarily your dog.

Where estimates go wrong

The honest limitation of any calculator is that individual variation is large. Two 20 kg dogs of the same age can differ by three hundred calories a day. One puppy holds on longer than the rule says and another manages half of it. A formula gives you a place to start, and your hands, your eyes and a weighing scale tell you whether it was right.

The check that beats every tool here: run your hands along your dog's ribs once a fortnight, watch what their toilet routine actually looks like over a week, and weigh them when you can. If your dog and the calculator disagree, your dog is correct.

Why they are built for India specifically

Water intake in a Delhi May is not water intake in a Manchester May. Sterilisation at a municipal clinic is not sterilisation at an American vet. A pad has to survive Mumbai humidity, a puppy has to hold on through a lift wait on the fourteenth floor, and a breed recommendation has to account for a double coat in Chennai and an RWA WhatsApp group that will notice the barking.

So the cost calculator prices Indian clinics and Indian food brands by city tier. The breed quiz weighs heat and noise above floor area. The potty planner assumes a utility area and a monsoon rather than a back garden. And the savings calculator uses Indian pee pad pricing, which is the number that appears on your bill.

Questions people ask

Are these dog calculators free?

Yes, all of them, with no sign up and no email required. Every tool runs in your browser, and the numbers you enter are never sent anywhere or stored.

How accurate are dog calculators?

Accurate as averages and approximate for any individual dog. Two dogs of the same weight and age can differ by several hundred calories a day depending on activity and metabolism. Use the result as a starting point, then check it against body condition, actual toilet frequency and a weighing scale, and let your dog overrule the formula.

Which tool should I use for a new puppy?

The puppy bladder calculator and the potty planner. The first tells you how many hours your puppy can physically hold on at their age, and the second gives you the right pad size for their weight along with a schedule built around those intervals.

Do these tools work for Indian street dogs and Indies?

Yes. Every tool works from weight, age and size rather than from breed, so an Indie is handled exactly like any other dog of the same build. The breed quiz treats Indies as a distinct option and generally scores them well for apartment living.

Can a calculator replace a vet?

No. These tools help you notice when something is worth asking about, which is genuinely useful, and they do not diagnose or treat anything. Any sudden change in drinking, eating, weight or toilet habits belongs with a vet rather than with a formula.

These tools give averages. Averages are a starting point and not a verdict on your dog. Anything here that touches health is written to help you decide whether something is worth a vet's time, never to tell you what is wrong.
