We could not find a first-party pet policy from IndiGo. There is no dedicated pet page on goindigo.in, and its published Conditions of Carriage mention a pet once and a dog once across roughly 106,000 characters, with no carriage rules attached. Every result for an IndiGo pet policy is a third-party travel site rather than the airline. Ring IndiGo before booking and get the rule in writing, because nothing authoritative is published to point at.

Vistara no longer operates as a separate airline after its merger with Air India. Requesting airvistara.com on the verification date returns an HTTP 301 permanent redirect to airindia.com, so there is no separate Vistara pet policy left to read. If you are holding a booking made under Vistara, the Air India policy is the one that applies.

The airline states that cats, dogs and small songbirds may travel in the cabin, that the pet together with its crate must not exceed 8kg, and that a reservation must be confirmed at least six hours before the flight. Lufthansa publishes that snub nosed breeds have anatomically restricted airways with accompanying difficulty in breathing, and that it has barred their transport in the cargo hold since 1 January 2020, while stating they may still travel in the passenger cabin. Qatar Airways publishes that the transport of certain breeds of dogs and cats is restricted because these animals are normally susceptible to an increased risk of heat stroke when exposed to stress or temperatures above 21 degrees Celsius, which is the standard snub nosed rationale, and its own guidance adds that it does not accept certain breeds of cats and dogs. The breed names sit on a separate page that we could not render, so ask the airline for the current list. A veterinarian must certify the pet fit to fly within 10 days before the travel date.

Etihad publishes a route table listing Indian airports where pets are not carried, naming flights to and from Ahmedabad, Kozhikode, Jaipur and Thiruvananthapuram, so check your specific airport rather than the airline alone. Its published policy lists dog breeds not permitted on its aircraft, among them Rottweiler, Doberman Pinscher, Boxer and several mastiff types, though this is framed as a restricted breed list rather than a snub nosed rule, and the page carries no brachycephalic policy that we could find. Hold carriage for cats and dogs is not covered on this page, so that field is left blank.
