How much water is normal?

A healthy dog drinks roughly 50 to 60 ml of water per kg of body weight a day. In Indian heat, after exercise, or on a dry-food diet, they will drink toward the top of that range or a little more. On wet food they drink less, since the food itself carries water. What matters most is the pattern. A sudden, large jump or drop in how much your dog drinks is worth a vet check, as it can be an early sign of a health issue.

More drinking usually means more toilet trips, so it pairs with the bladder calculator and the rest of our dog tools.
