Leaving Lucknow
Gangtok lies east of Lucknow, roughly 1100km by road. Lucknow has good expressway access in two directions and ordinary highways everywhere else. The Agra and Purvanchal expressways are genuinely quick, so a route that uses one is worth a detour to reach. Winter fog is the seasonal constraint, and from December it can hold departures until nine or ten.
