Delhi to Alibaug With a Dog
Roughly 1530km by road, which is around 24 hours of driving. Almost nobody does this by car with a dog. Train or plane is the sensible route.
Written for the journey in both directions. Alibaug back to Delhi is the same road with the light behind you.
Do not drive this one
1530km is not a drive, it is a relocation. Four of your holiday days would be spent in a car. Trains reach Alibaug via Pen, about 45 minutes away, on the Konkan line.
Leaving Delhi
Alibaug lies south west of Delhi, roughly 1530km by road. Leaving Delhi is the first hour of any trip and the worst. Aim to clear the city before 6am or after 10pm, because the ring roads and the NH exits are where a seven hour drive becomes nine. In winter, fog on the northern highways delays departures more reliably than traffic does.
Where to break this journey
A drive this long only works split, and these are the sensible splits.

Alibaug in one paragraph
The closest beach escape for Mumbai families and popular for exactly that reason. Villa stays with private compounds tend to work far better with dogs than hotels.
The full Alibaug guide carries the ground level detail: where dogs go, where they do not, and what to watch for.
Veterinary access at the far end
Reasonable. Alibaug town has private clinics, and Panvel or Mumbai is two to three hours away for anything specialised. Among the better placed destinations on this list.
Ask the property where they send guests' animals. Front desks usually know, and they know who actually opens at night. Emergency vets by city.
Timing it from Delhi
Delhi is the hardest climate in this list for a dog. Summer runs past 45C from May, and heatstroke cases climb through it. Winter smog is genuinely difficult for flat faced breeds and older dogs with any respiratory weakness.
Diwali is the busiest week of the year for Delhi emergency clinics, between firework injuries and dogs who have bolted. May and June are the heat months.
Set that against Alibaug, where the advice is to go november to march and avoid peak monsoon. The overlap between those two windows is your actual travel season, and it is usually narrower than either one suggests on its own.
Doing this journey with your dog
At around 24 hours of driving this is two days each way, which is the argument for the train. Feed light before you leave rather than not at all. A small meal three hours ahead settles most dogs better than an empty stomach, which brings its own nausea. Carry the food they already eat, since a strange brand on the road is how a holiday turns into a clean up. Roughly 24 hours in the car is long enough that what went in that morning matters.
